GMA Shows "Blackface"

On January 5, 2013, "Eat Baluga" displayed a segment in which someone dressed in Blackface tried to do a comedic routine. To my and many other's shock and horror, the segment lasted roughly ten minutes. Blackface, known as an incredibly racist portrayal of blacks, is when an actor or actress puts on makeup to make themselves look "black", but usually in the most racist way possible--unhuman-like lips and midnight colored skin. We shouldn't be too surprised. National networks in the Philippines have grown accustomed to derogatory and prejudice comments on virtually all of their shows. On "Wil Time Big Time", for example, the co-hosts have no problem making fun of overweight people or the dancer with a speech impediment.
